This new walk-in model suits most single and dual-cab utes.
The box is made of zinc anneal steel and is powder coated white to match all Carry Me Camper units. All doors around the unit are fully sealed against dust and weather. On the driver's side of the unit there are two doors, one that provides easy access to the main storage space and the other under the step that houses the stabilising legs so the unit can be left standing.
On the passenger side behind the door is the stainless steel kitchen complete with a two burner stove, fridge slide, food storage shelves and access to the 80-litre water tank. Also incorporated into the box is a battery system and lights. This clever unit is ideal for touring without having to lug a huge 'van around.
Once the ideal campsite has been found, simply remove the heavy-duty vinyl cover and fold out the tent section. Then, just hammer a few pegs into the ground, pull the ropes tight and the job is done. The bed is made up already so that's easy and it has its own flywire screens for protection from creepy crawlies. The bottom of the tent can be fully opened with the bed completely protected.
Australian 12oz canvas is used for the roof and 8oz for the walls. There are draft skirts and fully zippered walls to handle all weather conditions. For extra living space an awning is also available. A 4-inch thick inner-spring mattress makes sleeping comfortable and with plenty of windows around the bed space, ventilation is a breeze (if you'll pardon the pun).
Combining canvas and steel is something that Carry Me Camper has mastered and it shows with this new walk-in model. While it might not be as big as some of their other units it's very versatile and practical.
